#24 summary

Web 2.0 was a learning experience and one I will continue with. I appreciate the opportunity provided to me and the very helpful and professional program prepared by Elaine. It is
reassuring to have such an immediately helpful IT department, and we do.

My comfort level in navigating the computer world has increased significantly and I plan on revisiting some of the things we have touched on...not Twitter though. I joined Facebook thinking that was part of the program and that enabled me to view some of my son's sailing voyage. Turns out we did not need to join facebook, I did not like it, however it reconnected me with one of my best friends from high school in Virginia. In his writings, he sent me links to Youtube regarding favorites of his and I thought, wow, how did he do that?. Well, I have now also sent a link to youtube in my blog, what a coincidence.

I am printing web 2.0 and plan on revisiting some of our explorations, definately Library Thing. library related podcasts, RSS Feeds and more.

I would post a blog on Netlibrary, thing#23, but I do not have my library card with me and so I cannot join tonight. Will comment later though.

Thanks Elaine.

podcasts

I am exploring podcasts, but want to post before I leave today...time is running out! I have
clicked on a few podcasts and will go back and listen to more in a minute. Will there be no
television soon? Computers only? I really cannot see the storytime podcasts as satisfying
at all, but I do recognize podcasts are a useful way to view information.

P.S. the rest of Youtube thing

Having viewed some of the library youtube vidoes. I can see how creating one could add to our
new and amazing WPL website. I am sure someone is already thinking about or doing this, but
it is new to me.

Youtube thing 21

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyDY0hiMZy8 I did it!!! Youtube is interesting and alot
of fun. This link is to the Mr. Bean at the Library video, yes I am having fun. It is laugh out
loud hilarious as usual. I like the way the share button worked!I also enjoyed Creative ways libraries are using Youtube and especiallyCalgary Public Library's Story Time, now that is creative.

I am still hitting enter after the title, unbelievable!

There, I clicked here instead. I really am more comfortable with all this navigating. Not sure if
I blogged correctly on the Favorite Blogs page but I did comment on books and vacation spots,
however briefly.
